Inclusion Magazine Edition 1 - 2020The first edition provides a series of articles and snippets of information as part of a newly titled ÔAFSA Inclusion MagazineÕ. In the past we have issued newsletters but as contributions have increased and the focus shifted we felt it was appropriate to rename the newsletter a ÔmagazineÕ. Every story in this issue speaks to challenge, opportunity and the transformative power of hope. So, find out how and why health and wellbeing are so important as we address COVID19 and what it means to the architecture of society. Find out how staff networks can and are driving organisational performance, the importance of developing and advancing women in the workplace as part of talent management and culture change, and the changing nature of leadership and the importance of trust. We also address the importance of the latest research on diversity and inclusion and what the fire and rescue service can do to support staff who observe Ramadan 2020. Finally, we include a timetable of activities for all AFSA members to place in their diaries and to look forward to. Each of these stories speaks to our faith in the future, and IÕm excited to share them with you. Please keep your eyes on the magazine in the coming year for other signs of resilience and renewal. Whatever COVID19 and changes that 2020 may hold one thing remains constant: our commitment to you and the fire service we share.
