Chief Fire Officer / Chief Executive Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service
Salary: c. £140,000 plus car
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service serves one of the fastest growing areas of the country and provides one of the lowest cost fire and rescue services per head of population. We responded proactively to the 2010 Comprehensive Spending Review, implementing a number of changes and initiatives which allowed us to make the required savings ahead of time. This has meant we have been able to invest in all areas of the business in recent years, in order to continue to improve the service we provide to the citizens of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
We have a reputation for innovation and excellence and are in a strong position as we enter into the new CSR period. We are committed to further improving the quality and performance of our Service by continuing to collaborate with partners and by investing in technology in order to drive efficiencies and make our communities safer.
The Fire Authority are now seeking to appoint a highly talented and inspirational individual capable of providing direction and leading the organisation to enable us to rise to the challenges and meet the opportunities that the future will bring.
The successful candidate will be an experienced strategic leader with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders in order to deliver innovative change and improve performance. They must demonstrate first-class communication skills and a commitment to their own and the organisation’s development. As the post holder will be expected to participate in the Gold Command rota, they must also be a suitability qualified and experienced operational commander who is currently a Principal Officer.
