South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue is looking for an Assistant Chief Fire Officer to
help achieve its purpose of ‘Making South Yorkshire safer and stronger’.
The service is a high-performing organisation which is incredibly well regarded by the people it serves. It aims to continuously improve its work, so needs an extremely high calibre individual with determination, positivity and proven strategic skills to help lead this.
Supported in your role through ongoing development, you will take charge of the service delivery directorate- which is at the heart of South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue’s offer to the public.
You will make a measurable difference to the service’s aspirations for the future, as well as embodying- every single day- its core behaviors of honesty, integrity and respect.
Currently operating at Area Manager level, comprehensive experience of commanding operational incidents is a must. Given your operational commitments, you will be expected to live, or provide a base, within a suitable boundary of the county in order to maintain principal officer standby cover. If needed, we will support you in this with interim accommodation, car scheme options and eligibility for a relocation package.
